A STRANGER THING

Isla Neal Martin Leicht

Parenting can be a real mother.
If there were ever a time for relaxation and reflection, it would be after delivering an alien baby girl, especially when said alien baby wasn't supposed to come in the female variety. But Elvie Nara does not have that kind of time. Almost immediately after her daughter's birth she is shipped off to a remote outpost in Antarctica by the Almiri, the alien race her baby daddy, Cole, is a part of, "for protection" from the evil Jin'Kai. Stuck in the frozen wasteland, Elvie discovers that these aliens have quite a bit of unexpected baggage - like, say, a couple of intertwining race wars, and oh, a few billion details about Elvie and her baby that they thought weren't worth mentioning.

The more Elvie learns, the more the obstacles in her path to a normal life seem completely insurmountable. But at least she won't have to venture across dangerous glaciers to discover the secrets of her own origin. Oh, wait.
