Kristen Kish never set out to live a public lifenot when she was a carefree softball-tossing kid, not in high school working at a pretzel stand, not even, briefly, as a working model. Kristen Kish was born in Seoul, South Korea, and adopted by a family in Michigan at the age of four months. She attended Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, earning an A.A. in culinary arts. A former chef at Boston restaurants Stir and Menton, Kish was the first Top Chef winner to win after winning "Last Chance Kitchen," and the second female winner in the history of the Top Chef franchise.
