The year is 1967. After ten years of marriage, Grace, Princess of Monaco, is desperate to escape her controlling and abusive husband, Prince Rainier, and return to America. Ending their long estrangement, she contacts former First Lady Jackie Kennedy to help plan her getaway. As cover, she must convince Alfred Hitchcock to direct her in a film that will mark her return to the silver screen. 

She flees to the U.S. with her children, but Grace Kelly must confront her conflicting feelings—from love to resentment to passion—for Jackie, the widow who was once her best friend and lover. They fall headlong back into their relationship, rediscovering the happiness they once had together, but one night Grace is waylaid by a man who threatens that Rainier is watching her every move. When Rainier tightens his grip and things spin out of control, Grace faces the greatest challenge of her life: how will she be able to remain with the one person who’s ever truly understood her?
