DAUGHTERS OF BRONZE
A Novel of Troy
In this sweeping epic, the most iconic moments of the Trojan War are told from the perspective of Andromache, Rhea, Helen, and Cassandra, driving A.D. Rhine's retelling to its captivating conclusion, as the four fierce women and unlikely allies work together to save the city's greatest hope: Hector and Andromache's newborn son.
After nearly ten years of grueling war and devastating siege, the Greek soldiers encamped on Troy's shores so no sign of tiring, and the Trojan people need some new source of hope. Andromache and Hector's newborn son is the sign the city needs that Troy and her people have a future.
Again, four women take center stage. Andromache, Helen, Rhea, Cassandra. Warrior, healer, spy, seer. These four women are bound together by fate and friendship, and together, they hold the fate of Troy in their hands. But they soon discover that their most dangerous enemies are not outside the gates. They are inside the city walls, in the highest seats of power, dangerous and devious, pulling the strings of the men entrusted with Trojan safety. It is clear the devil is in in their midst, but can this unlikely alliance unmask him before his treachery brings an end to Troy?
A. D. Rhine is the pseudonym and debut venture of Ashlee Cowles and Danielle Stinson. The authors, previously published in the YA space (by S&S and Macmillan, respectively), are united by their military "brat" upbringing, childhood friendship spanning two decades, and love of classical literature. Ashlee holds graduate degrees in the Ethics of War and Peace from Duke University and History from the University of St. Andrews. Danielle holds a masters degree in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts. Horses of Fire and Daughters of Bronze are the books they have always dreamt of writing together.
