DEAR WORLD
My Story of War, my Plea for Peace
This memoir is the poignant, inspiring story of Bana Alabed, the seven-year-old Syrian girl who escaped Aleppo with her family in December 2016 during the mass evacuations that took place.
Bana became world-famous for her real-time tweets depicting the horrendous conditions of the refugees, allowing the world to see the tragedy and horror of war through the eyes of a young girl.
Called the “Anne Frank of our era” (Washington Post), Bana has over 320,000 followers on her twitter account, all of whom followed her story as she reported on the conditions of war and became an unwitting voice for all refugees. The book recounts Bana’s story and tells how she became a global symbol and advocate for peace and refugee rights.
The book will be a series of vignettes talking about her experiences with war and her call for peace where children do not grow up in war zones.
