Jacques Lanctôt was a publisher for 25 years and published some 700 works by nearly 400 authors. He still works in publishing and translation today, and writes a weekly op-ed column. He published an autobiographical accountof his exile in Cuba, Les Plages de l'exil (Beaches of Exile) with Stanké in 2010, and a biography of trans businesswomen Michelle Blanc, Michelle Blanc Un genre à part, with Libre Expression in 2012. He has also published two poetry collections.
