DON GIULIANO

Jacques Lanctôt

A historical thriller intertwining good and evil.
DESCRIPTION
The American Mafia loses a major playground when Castro comes to power in Cuba. Hitman Lino Mandolini, the son of a Sicilian Mafia boss, takes on a huge contract to eliminate Fidel Castro. The last thing he expects is for someone else to get in the way. But that's exactly what happens when Canadian priest Julien Casavant—the man they call Don Giuliano—foils Mandolini's plans and helps him to get his life back on track.

EXCERPT
Not wanting to beat around the bush, Lino got straight to the point and asked who they wanted him to take out. He seemed completely unimpressed by the scale of the task. He never bothered with politics, but he had vaguely heard something about a revolution that was all over the headlines.
“This is a man who's extremely well-protected, and he won't be easy to get close to. You'll have all the money you need and we'll give you some contacts who can help. We don't care how you take him out. Poison him, shoot him, anything goes.”
Luigi paused for a moment before he went on. “You ever heard of Fidel Castro?”
