EMPIRE OF WILD

Cherie Dimaline

• From North America's literary superstar Cherie Dimaline comes Empire of Wild, the first adult novel of a four-book deal signed with Random House Canada (two adult novels, two YA novels) and one of the most anticipated literary events of the year.
I don't have to update you on Cherie's history or the backstory of The Marrow Thieves (although all the very impressive info is on the sellsheet attached!) but I should remind you that Cherie signed with the CookeMcDermid Agency in spring 2018 and her primary agents Dean Cooke and Rachel Letofsky, after a heated battle among Canadian houses, sold the Canadian rights to her next four novels to Penguin Random House Canada (two adult novels to Anne Collins at Random House and two YA novels to Tara Walker at Tundra) in huge deals that secured for Cherie a very bright future in Canada.

Anne Collins will publish Empire of Wild, the first of the two adult novels under contract, in Canada this fall (September, 2019) and Tara will publish the first YA novel next but the publication plan has yet to be set.

Not only is Cherie an incredible writer, professional and easy to work with, she is one of the most amazing, smart, hilarious, down to earth, fierce human beings on the planet. I am proud to represent Cherie on behalf of CookeMcDermid and I look forward to hearing from you once the materials are with Heyne. And please let me know if you have any questions at all.
