FALLEN LEAVES

The final and most personal work from Pulitzer Prize–winning author and historian Will Durant - discovered 32 years after his death - is a message of insight for everyone who has sought meaning in life or the council of a wise friend in navigating life‘s journey.

FALLEN LEAVES is the culmination of Durant‘s 60-plus years spent researching the philosophies, religions, arts, sciences, and civilizations from across the world. In the Preface, Durant mentions that over the course of his career he received letters from readers who challenged him to speak his mind on the timeless questions of human life and fate. With FALLEN LEAVES, he accepted their challenge and provides his insights into the human condition and the problems and joys we face as a species.

Will Durant was awarded the Pulitzer Prize (1968) and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (1977). He spent more than fifty years writing his critically acclaimed eleven-volume series, THE STORY OF CIVILIZATION (the later volumes written in conjunction with his wife, Ariel).
