FOREVER NERDY
Living My Dorky Dreams and Staying Metal
The first memoir by beloved comedian, actor, and writer Brian Posehn, hilariously detailing what it's like to grow up as and remain a nerd.
Brian Posehn is a successful comedian, actor, writer, and he also happens to be a giant nerd. Long before reaching full height (and full awkwardness) at 6'7", Brian has been obsessed with such things as Dungeons & Dragons, Star Wars, comic books, and heavy metal. He got through his growing pains by escaping into all things nerdy.
Though the status of nerd hasn't always been cool, Posehn's passions proved time and again to be his safe haven from a world in which he was far from comfortable. Now, approaching middle age with a wife, child, and thriving career, this successful comedian still feels like an outsider at times; but in those five decades of nerddom, he discovered that the key to happiness is to not grow up. Brian's always felt awkward and like a perpetual outsider, but by staying nerdy and rocking his face off, he's found success because somehow along the way, the nerds won.
Forever Nerdy does not tell the life story of Brian Posehn but it does share some bizarre and hilarious stories from his life, along with a captivating look back at nearly fifty years of nerd culture, in celebration of growing up different. This self-deprecating nerd who struggled with depression landed his dream job, got the girl, and learned to fit in kind of. See how he did it while staying forever nerdy.
Brian Posehn is a writer, actor, and stand-up comic who has appeared on Lady Dynamite, The Big Bang Theory, New Girl, The Sarah Silverman Program, and was a writer and performer on HBO's Mr. Show. He co-produced Netflix's With Bob and David and starred in the dark indie comedy Uncle Nick. He hosts and produces the Nerd Poker podcast and co-wrote a run of Marvel's Deadpool. His next project is a comedy metal album titled Offenders of the Fake, featuring members of Anthrax, Dethklok, Slayer, and Soundgarden.
