Get Away From it All!

Ulli and Lena plan to take a six-month break, travel from Hamburg to South Africa, discover the African continent but also rediscover themselves. They never reached South Africa. Instead, they spent two years travelling through West Africa in an old Land Rover. In this book, Lena tells of the highs and lows, her voyage of self-discovery and encounters with the people they met on their 46,000-kilometre journey. She also describes Ulli’s impressions, which are often quite different from her own. As a result, the book is an exciting account not only of their travels, but also of the tensions in a relationship between two people who once shared a dream.
