GOODNIGHT BUBBALA

Sheryl Haft Jill Weber

GOODNIGHT BUBBALA is an energetic, silly Hanukkah parody of Goodnight Moon that turns the quiet green room into the setting of a family dance party that's not to be missed.
In the small blue room there was a bubbala, and a little shmatta, and then, oy vey!, came--the whole mishpakcha!

This lively parody of one of America's favorite bedtime books imagines how Margaret Wise Brown's story might unfold if the little one were a Jewish bunny with his bubbies and zeydes saying goodnight. In Goodnight Bubbala, that bedtime routine includes slurping matzoh ball soup, and dancing the hora with all the family members, and--because it's Hanukkah--playing a few rounds of dreidel as well. It's a joyous, endearing celebration of the Yiddish language and the Jewish American experience, particularly during the festival of lights.

Selling Points:
Playful Hanukkah read-aloud: This Jewish bedtime tale takes place during Hanukkah, with latkes and dreidels and a glowing menorah. It's a perfect book for the holiday.
Clever parody: Unlike the restful Goodnight Moon, this funny spoof is full of rambunctious activity--dancing and singing and eating and playing. It's a bedtime book that shakes the sillies out before bubbala gets tucked in for bed at last.
