Alonzo Pratt makes a living impersonating people in order to trick honest folk out of their money. Of course, his line of work is bound to backfire...

He is wearing a badge when he runs into U.S. Federal Deputy Marshal Jacob Stone, a true, no-nonsense lawman. Stone assumes Alonzo is also a real lawman and corrals the confidence artist into a posse in pursuit of the Cal Grissom gang. Now Alonzo is going to have to learn to ride on the other side of justice for the first time.
