HARRISON SQUARED

Daryl Gregory

HARRISON SQUARED AND THE DWELLERS is an adventure tale about a 17-year-old boy navigating a world of sea monsters, secret cults, and school administrators. Harrison Harrison, H2 to his friends, moves with his marine biologist mother to the creepy fishing village of Dunnsmouth, Massachusetts, and enrolls in the mausoleum-like high school. When his mom disappears at sea, H2 has to find her before the cult and its agent, the immortal assassin called the Scrimshander, sacrifice her to an ancient god. Along the way he teams up with Lydia, the mastermind behind a secret society of teenage rebels, and Lub the Fishboy, a member of the undersea race the Dwellers who also loves H2's manga collection. By the end of the story, H2 discovers he may be a bit of a monster himself, and that there's a lot more to his family history than he's been told. He may have rescued his mother, but more monsters are forcing their way into the world.

HARRISON SQUARED AND THE DWELLERS is the first book of a proposed trilogy that continues H2's adventures in Dunnsmouth and high school, and ends with the world's worst final exam: assault by inter-dimensional gods.
