HOW F*CKING ROMANTIC

Emily Harding

From the co-author of Emma of 83rd Street and Elizabeth of East Hampton, a sharply funny romantic comedy about a soon-to-be lawyer who doesn't believe in marriage, her new colleague who makes his living off divorce, and the biggest disaster of all: falling in love.
While some might describe law teaching assistant Bea Nilsson as "abrasive," she likes to think of herself as someone who fights for what's right. Her feistiness, after all, is what's kept her friend group from college together even as they've all grown up while she's still figuring it out. A latecomer to the law track with no job offers on the eve of graduation, Bea chooses to ignore her own problem to focus on theirs. So when the marriage of two of her best friends falls apartand the divorce proceedings get uglyshe finds herself picking up the pieces. First on her to-do list? Storm the office of Nathan Asher, her friend's ex-husband's lawyer, and tell him exactly what he can do with his divorce petition. But what should end with a few choice words soon spirals into uncharted territory when Nathan shows up at her NYU Law office a few days later. As a newly-minted adjunct professorand her new colleaguehe soon proves to be annoyingly intelligent, relentlessly patient, and disturbingly attractive. There's just one issue: when you've spent your life focusing on everyone else's love story, it's not easy to transition to a starring role in your own. And as uncomfortable truths emerge about the divorce that started it all, Bea must choose between her own happily-ever-after and her friends' for the very first time. Harding is one-half of the writing duo behind the For the Love of Austen series, including Emma of 83rd Street and the upcoming Elizabeth of East Hampton. Her work has been featured on Scary Mommy, Literary Hub, Nerd Daily, ComicsXF, and the Eisner award-winning WWAC. She is a graduate of Emerson College where she earned degrees in both creative writing and film. After working over 15 years in nonfiction television developing and producing series and specials for networks like Bravo, Discovery, and History, she found her way back to writing. Emily lives in Dallas with her husband, two children, and an incredibly spoiled Texas heeler.
