I’m not here - Black Mirror
Visions and unrest from a present future
These are questions that thrill us, questions raised by the series devised by Charlie Brooker, but what disturbs us most is the fact that Black Mirror, promoted by Netflix as a science-fiction series, is more frightening because of its vision of our present rather than its capacity for predicting our future.
And so, I Am Not Here in the words of Fabio Chiusi, an Italian journalist very much in tune with the contemporary. Almost as though just awakened from a nightmare, he picks up on the neuroses of the series’ creator and pursues the ideal development of his journey. He seeks to explain to us who we are, but above all to explain what we are becoming and how profoundly the technologies that we use every day are changing us.
Because the real answer to the questions raised by Black Mirror is that technological problems are, more than any other thing, human problems.
