INTO THE DIM
Addictive and rich with historical detail, Into the Dim is an unlikely heroine’s story of adventure, sacrifice, and first love, in a high-stakes race against time itself.
When Hope Walton’s mother is killed in a natural disaster thousands of miles from home, Hope’s secluded world crumbles. After an aunt she’s never met invites her to spend the summer in Scotland, Hope discovers that her mother was more than a brilliant academic: a member of a secret society of time travelers, she is actually trapped in the twelfth century during the age of King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine.
Now Hope must conquer her numerous fears and travel back in time to help res- cue her mother before she’s lost for good.
Fast paced, romantic, and rich with juicy historical details, THE DIM is an OUTLANDER for teens. It works as a stand-alone but is also the first in a planned series, in which Hope and her friends travel back to different eras in time.
The 2013 winner of the coveted #PitchWars, Janet B Taylor, has four years’ experience writing web content for a major television network fan site (CBS) that garners over a hundred thousand hits a day. In addition, she has conducted author interviews for the prestigious Historical Novel Society. Janet travels extensively to those places where her novels are set, often roaming around at night to commune with the famous historical figures about which she loves to write. She is a member of several writing organizations, including the SCBWI and the Historical Novel Society, and lives in a tiny town in Arkansas with her family and Dorda the dog, who won’t win any beauty contests, but has a “nice personality”.
