Khams-pa: An Epic of Tibetan People
At the beginning of the last century, the native Chieftain system in Southwest
China existed in name only during a time of tremendous change. Three large families living in Kangting were subject to different behaviors during the sharp transformation
because of their different beliefs and cultural concepts. Through depicting the different
fates of the characters in the three families, Khams-pa presents the secret history during
which people resorted to wisdom in the pursuit of peace, expresses the humanity
of people when Bon magic was used in revenge and expounds a period of legendary
life resulting from clashes in cultural understanding.
