LA REINE DE RIEN
A novel about the freedom we choose to allow ourselves, or not
This novel tells the story of a couple in the process of breaking up. An ambitious journalist, ready for anything but stifled by the constraints imposed on her and those she imposes on herself, Catherine allows herself the right to experience infidelity, open marriage, and not-so-unconditional mother love.
After studying the sociology of religions and literature at the Université du Québec in Montréal, Geneviève Pettersen worked in publishing before becoming involved in the world of advertising. She won the Grand Prix littéraire Archambault in 2015 for her first novel, La Déesse des mouches à feu. The book was first adapted for the stage by Théâtre PàP, and then made into a movie by renown director Anaïs Barbeau- Lavalette. In the meantime, the author published 13e Avenue, a graphic novel and finalist for the Prix des libraires, and then co-wrote the script for the movie Fabuleuses, released in 2019.
