LIES LIKE WILDFIRE

Jennifer Lynn Alvarez

A heart pounding thriller for fans of E. Lockhart and Karen McManus.
In Gap Mountain, California, everyone knows about fire season. And no one is more vigilant than 18-year-old Hannah Warner, the sheriff's daughter and aspiring FBI agent. But this summer Hannah and her four best friends make a mistake while hanging out by Gap Lake. When the group accidentally sparks an enormous and deadly wildfire, their instinct is to lie to the police and the fire investigators. But as the blaze roars through their rural town and towards Yosemite National Park, Hannah's friends begin to crack. The lie becomes harder to keep secret. After privileged Violet threatens to expose what really happened, she goes missing—and the other four become suspects in her disappearance. Will the truth rise from the ashes?
A page-turner with tight pacing, layered characters, and an unsettling ending.
