Moorish Spain

Since the 8^th century Islam was present on the Iberian Peninsula for about 900 years. During this time a unique coexistence of Muslims, Christians and Jews took place where science, philosophy, literature and art flourished. The mosque of Cordoba and the Alhambra of Granada still bear witness to this "Golden Age". George Bossong vividly describes the eventful history of Moorish Spain with its splendour, but also with its conflicts, which eventually led to the expulsion of Jews and Muslims.
