NEWBIE FAIRY
In this hilarious, highly illustrated new chapter book series, lovable newbie fairy Oona has big ideas, but her magic always seems to go a little wonky. But she won't let that stop her!
Oona Bramblegoop hopes to someday win the Very Important Fairy award, just like Lucy, the Tooth Fairy, the most award-winning fairy of all time. Better yet, she dreams of being Lucy's VERY BEST friend. But there's one big problem: Oona's constantly surprised by the outcome of her spells, and usually not in a good way.
When she secretly follows Lucy on her rounds and accidently wakes a boy - breaking the #1 rule: never interact with humans - both Oona and Lucy are in danger of losing their wands.
Will Lucy agree to team up with Oona to get out of this trouble? And can Oona's sideways magic actually be helpful or will it make everything worse?
Kate Korsh holds a BA in English Literature from Princeton, where she studied creative writing, and a master's in psychology from Phillips Graduate University. Her writing can be found in L.A. Parent magazine, where she has published numerous articles. She was also an elementary school teacher for ten years, as well as being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She attended the most recent royal wedding and doesn't need much persuading to tell that story. Kate lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children, who seem to magically always have clean underwear in their drawers.
Marta Altés is the author and illustrator of many books for children, including the Dork Lord series by Mike Johnston, and picture books My Grandpa, Little Monkey, and Five More Minutes. Originally from Barcelona, she received her MA in children's book illustration at the Cambridge School of Art, and she lives in London.
