NIMONA

ND Stevenson

An award-winning, full-color graphic novel for young adults. Nimona is a deadpan epic that won the first Cartoonist’s Studio Prize for Best Webcomic, with over 100,000 regular readers, soon to be collected in print with exclusive bonus content.
Lord Ballister Blackheart has a point to make, and his point is that the good guys aren’t as good as they seem. Blackheart doesn't really consider himself that bad of a guy. In fact, he used to be one of the kingdom’s most promising heroes until his former best friend, Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin, be- trayed him and blew up his right arm with a rocket lance during a joust. He makes a comfortable living as a supervillain, and Blackheart and Goldenloin have got their villain/hero rela- tionship down to a routine, each being careful to fulfill their assigned roles—until Ballister takes on a new sidekick, Nimona, an impulsive young shapeshifter who aspires to supervillainy. Although she can take on any shape she wants, the one she prefers is trouble. With her own ideas of how things should be done—mostly involving blowing things up—Ballister must teach his young protégé some restraint and try to keep her from destroying everything, including his plans to expose the dark dealings of the Institute of Law Enforcement and Heroics... including his former best friend. Noelle Stevenson is a comic artist and freelance illustrator residing in Los Angeles, California.
