Alison Lester is the well-known creator of many internationally popular and award-winning children's books, many of which reflect her own country childhood. Alison's picture books include Magic Beach, Imagine, My Farm, Alison Lester's ABC and Yikes! which are all Australian classics. She has written two novels for older children, The Quicksand Pony and The Snow Pony. In 2012, Alison became Australia's first Children's Book Laureate, a position she shared with Boori Monty Pryor.
