NOT YETI

Kelly DiPucchio Claire Keane

New York Times bestselling author Kelly DiPucchio and celebrated illustrator Claire Keane have created an irresistible new monster!
Monsters are loud. And rude. They like to smash things and they always need to be right. But not Yeti. Yeti bakes banana bread and sings to whales and always has a nice word to say. But sometimes you find yourself alone when you're different. And Yeti doesn't know there's a special surprise in store for him.

New York Times bestselling author Kelly DiPucchio and celebrated illustrator Claire Keane have created a lovable new character who always chooses kindness, no matter what the other monsters say.

Kelly DiPucchio is the award-winning author of several children's books, including the New York Times bestsellers, Grace for President, and The Sandwich Swap, a book co-authored for Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan. Kelly has been a featured author/speaker at numerous schools, public libraries, universities, and conferences such as: the International Reading Association, Michigan Reading Association, and the National Council of Teachers of English. This story makes "Virtue is its own reward" seem original and kind of a blast.

The premise offers a lot of giggly fun.Whether viewers take away the notion that kindness is always worth it or that even when it feels like you're alone, someone's out there watching your back, this will lead them through the laughter to a final "awww."

Narration and dialogue balloons by DiPucchio (Oona) are models of heartfelt comedy with a light touch, and Keane's (Paolo, Emperor of Rome) softly jewel-toned, monstrously expressive digital drawings have the fluidity and immediacy of ink and watercolor sketches. The book's lesson - framed as an alternative party that Yeti throws during the raucous Monster Bash - is a familiar one, but readers should find it reassuring nonetheless: be yourself, and the rest will follow.

a strong reinforcement for holding on to the value of kindness, even among monsters.
