PETIT JIM, KIKI ET LA CAMIONNETTE
Caroline Hamel Gilles Chouinard
A highly endearing book inspired by the author's childhood.
DESCRIPTION
Little Jim is thrilled to be given the best birthday present ever: an adorable little puppy named Kiki. For weeks, he can think about nothing else. Little Jim eats with Kiki, sleeps with Kiki, plays with Kiki and draws with Kiki. On rainy days, they love to curl up together and watch TV in black and white or listen to Aunt Lucille's stories on the radio. Until one day, when raspberry times comes
AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR
Gilles Chouinard spent most of his childhood drawing and went to graphic design school in 1975. After starting his career as as a graphic designer he branched out into creative media and advertising, a field he still works in today. He has also lectured on ideation to students in the graphic communication program at Laval University.
Caroline Hamel graduated from graphic design school in 1993 and began her career in a small studio in Quebec before putting her talent to work in an advertising agency. Her illustration style took shape following a trip to Europe through the sketches she drew in her travel journal. In 2001, some of the images from this collection earned her prestigious recognition in Applied Arts magazine. In 2005, Caroline was awarded the Quebec/Wallonia-Brussels Prize.
