SNAPPSY THE ALLIGATOR (DID NOT ASK TO BE IN THIS BOOK)

Tim Miller Julie Falatko

A boundary-breaking debut that invites readers into a humorous story about an alligator and a meddling narrator. SNAPPSY THE ALLIGATOR (DID NOT ASK TO BE IN THIS BOOK) is a hilarious and truly unique look at friendship, creative differences, and storytelling from a pair of rising stars in the picture book world.
Snappsy the alligator is trying to go about his very ordinary day when a pesky narrator steps in to spice up the story with slanderous claims. Is Snappsy making crafty plans? Is he prowling for defenseless birds and soft, fuzzy bunnies? Is Snappsy a big, mean alligator who’s obsessed with snack foods that start with the letter P? It’s no wonder Snappsy won't invite the narrator to his party!

Snappsy is a smart, funny, subversive, self-aware picture book. It fits perfectly alongside The Book With No Pictures; This Book Just Ate My Dog; A Perfectly Messed-Up Story;and Z is for Moose.

Julie Falatko loves, loves, loves to talk about books. This is the first book for both Falatko and Miller, and it’s an excellent one—Falakto’s writing nimbly zigs and zags around Miller’s bold, goofy cartoons.

Falatko’s debut picture book is a truly laugh-out-loud, mischievous romp, made gleefully goofier by Miller’s straight-laced, deadpan animal characters.

More than merely meta, Snappsy is clearly a book, if not a protagonist, with bite.
