STFU PARENTS

Blair Koenig

The Jaw-Dropping, Self-Indulgent, and Occasionally Rage-Inducing World of Parent Overshare

Based on the popular STFUparentsblog.com, this is a humorous guide to the oversharing habits of parents online. Since March 2009, STFUparentsblog.com has been visited by more than two million readers and read in approximately 205 countries/territories. It has been featured in The Huffington Post, The New York Post, MSNBC, The Guardian, Salon, Slate, Glamour, The Sydney Morning Herald, BUST Magazine, the Village Voice, and The Week
In the Facebook Age, parents are susceptible to oversharing, from posting photos of their baby’s first bathroom experience to criticizing the parenting skills of fellow Facebook “friends.” STFU, Parents showcases the hilarious, horrifying, and even downright bizarre behavior of parents on the web. In the tradition of The Hipster Handbook, it’s a humorous revelation of parents who give a little too much information: how to identify them, how to avoid them, how to avoid becoming them, and how, when all else fails, to sit back and see the humor. Blair Koenig is a writer and humorist. Her work has appeared in the New York Press and The Hairpin, among other sites. She writes a weekly column for Mommyish.com and one for Crushable called “Space Relations,” and is a frequent contributor to Nickelodeon. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
