STRAIGHT TO HELL

John LeFevre

True Tales of Deviance, Debauchery, and Billion-Dollar Deals

Based on the ultra-popular twitter feed @GSE Elevator (Things Overheard on the Goldman Sachs Elevator) it takes readers into the dark heart of the dark hearts of capitalism.
“Some chick asked me what I would do with 10 million bucks. I told her I'd wonder where the rest of my money went.”
“Just be yourself' is good advice to probably 5% of people.”
The @GSElevator twitter feed: Things Overheard in the Elevators of Goldman Sachs – has unquestionably hit a cultural nerve. From inception, it has been an overnight phenomenon, gaining followers by the thousands (currently ~ 600,000), and attracting a storm of media attention from The Financial Times, New York Times, The Daily Mail, CNN, CNBC, The New York Post, Gawker, Forbes, and many others.

The author has written 5 pieces as a contributor for Business Insider, all of which have become the #1 most read stories on the site. Most notably, "How To Be Man”, published in Sept 2013, which amassed over 2.5 million views and over 200,000 Facebook shares. STRAIGHT TO HELL is not the judgmental story of a single rotten apple or a tale of redemption marked by some convenient moral epiphany. It’s about giving the reader exactly what they want. The author sums it up in this interview:“Yes, these are my stories, but it’s not just about me. It’s about the guys in black tie at the Robin Hood Gala, the best and brightest, the guys you want your daughter to marry, the personification of hard work, success, and respectability. That person is more than what they seem, they're also part of the dark, dysfunctional, and deviant side that permeates Wall Street to its core.”
