Posey is obsessed with superheroes. She knows the names of every hero, runs a superhero blog, and can’t wait to turn 18 so she can tattoo the hero alliance’s emblem across her wrist. Bridgette, on the other hand, has had enough of superheroes After dating Matt “The Spector” for her entire high school career, she’s been the victim of his lifestyle one too many times. Just once Bridgette would like a normal day with her boyfriend, but with his action figures flying off the shelves, and a recent upswing in crime, “normal” doesn’t seem to be in the cards.
Told from alternating points of view, Posey and Bridgette are thrown together when they are kidnapped by the Paralyzer, a super villain responsible for a string of increasingly violent crimes. And when they discover that the Paralyzer is able to take away superhero powers, it’s up to them and their “regular” talents to save the day.
With a cast of diverse, quirky, “ordinary” characters, Super Adjacentis a superhero adventure from a flipped point of view. Written with comic book and fandom enthusiasts in mind, this is a story about love, sacrifice, and what is means to wear the pants (or spandex) in the relationship.
