It’s high summer in the Mojave desert and the burning day is about to tip into darkness when Kristine Rush and her fiancè, Daniel, begin their journey from Las Vegas to Lake Arrowhead, California. Kristine is not happy with the timing — she grew up in the desert and hates it — but Daniel assures her they’ll be through it soon. Yet what begins as a quick trip to celebrate their engagement with friends and family quickly swerves into a chase along the barren I-15.

One small accident, a spilled cup of coffee, turns into a life-altering event when Kristine and Daniel are forced to pull over at a deserted rest stop. While changing clothes Kristine is attacked, and ends up losing consciousness on the bathroom floor. When Kristine wakes, she is alone. There’s also no sign of Daniel. Then she is surprised by a text coming through on the phone...
