THE BIG VW CORRADO BOOK

Launched in 1989, the VW Corrado models meant Volkswagen’s rise into the league of Porsche und BMW. Qualified engineers had managed to develop innovative technologies which enabled the VW sports car to flex its muscles. 

Following the type G mechanical compressor, in autumn 1991 the new VR6 with its unordinary 6-cylinder engine took over the role of VW’s most sportive model of all time, whereas the model line was complemented by a downsized two-litre 16-valve version.

This volume presents the complete Corrado history in all its facings: evolution, design, technology and serial production. There is also a review on the tradition of VW sports coupés. The book is made round by a glance at the tuning scene as well as a comprehensive chapter containing technical and production figures.
