Based on a special edition of the New York Times magazine - The Decameron Project, published online July 8th and in print on July 12th - and inspired by Giovanni Boccaccio's The Decameron of 1353, this anthology is a superb collection of early writing about the Covid-19 pandemic coming from an incredible group of writers: Margaret Atwood, Tommy Orange, David Mitchell, Edwidge Danticat, Yiyun Li, Kamila Shamsie, Karen Russell, Mona Awad, Charles Yu, Rachel Kushner, John Wray, Tea Obreht, Etgar Keret, Laila Slimani, Alejandro Zambra, Dina Nayeri, Paolo Giordano, Rivers Solomon, Liz Moore, Victor Lavalle, Dinaw Mengestu, Matthew Baker, Esi Edugyan, Uzodinma Iweala, and Andrew O'Hagan.
