Rima has won various awards internationally, received special recognition including from H.H. the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, at the International Peace Summit in Japan.
In 2001 Rima established Books for Children, an organization that produces children's books and donates them to children in need around the world. She has created seven children's books, and has donated more than fifteen thousand books to the Tibetan children in exile.
