The Flaws consists of twenty-one stories that embrace coarseness and black humor and explore, among other questions, the endof friendship, of love, of lifethe advice others give, lost parakeets, god meals, the scourge of tourism, literary movements, the forms of faith, belief, the often hilarious way human beings confront tragedy. Agile, simple, and profoundly alive, the stories in The Imperfect Ones are an irreverent and uncomfortable collection, sometimes dark and disturbing, sometimes hilarious and grotesque. The shamelessness -but what little shame- that Irene Pujadas displays on each page of The Flaws is soon noticed as a brilliant shamelessness and a very personal imagination.
