THE LAW OF SUPERHEROES
In THE LAW OF SUPERHEROES, attorneys/comic enthusiasts James Daily and Ryan Davidson explore the hypothetical legal ramifications of comic book tropes, characters, and powers. For example, could Superman sue if someone exposed his true identity as Clark Kent? And who foots the bill when a hero damages property while fighting a villain?
Inspired by the popular website Lawandthemultiverse.com and formatted as a guide for legal practitioners in a comic book world, THE LAW OF SUPERHEROES tackles a wide range of legal issues surrounding the actions and lives of superheroes—everything from constitutional law and criminal procedure to taxation, intellectual property, and torts. THE LAW OF SUPERHEROES is a treat for legal experts and comic nerds, alike. James Daily and Ryan Davidson are attorneys and co-founders of Lawandthemultiverse.com. Daily works for the Stanford University Hoover Institution Project on Commercializing Innovation and also represents clients in a variety of intellectual property matters. Davidson is currently an associate at Hunt Suedhoff Kalamaros LLP where he practices general insurance litigation.
