Terry Denton was born and raised in Australia. He studied architecture and animation and did some acting. After he was married, he took some illustrations to a publisher and got some illustrating work. From there he wrote a few stories and was rewarded for his work with several awards. When not writing, Denton also makes visits to schools to talk to the children who read his books.
