THE PRESIDENT AND UFOS

UFOs exist. That fact can no longer be questioned, and is supported by the most cursory of research. Only those totally uninformed still deny this fact. What they are and where they come from remains an open question to the general public, but their existence is starting to gain acceptance in the scientific community.

Through interviews with major participants, newly released documents secured through the FOIA, and other sources, this book will chronicle the history of presidential involvement and control of the UFO phenomenon. It will tell how the military industrial complex and the intelligence community in the 1960's and '70's took control of UFO matters away from the executive branch of government. It will tell how the Nixon administration's attempt at disclosure caused this paradigm shift in presidential control of UFO information. It will document the astonishing fact that while countries around the world are finally opening their files on the UFO issue, the United States stands firm in its denial of any interest in the phenomenon. It is a story that tells how our government and a small group within the Department of Defense have successfully covered up the greatest story in the history of mankind. It is a story of clandestine and felonious activities, disinformation, cover up, corruption, greed, and the amassing of unbelievable power. In telling the story of Presidential involvement in the UFO issue, it will also serve as an abridged historical overview of the entire UFO phenomenon. It will give the casual observer the ability to begin to understand the basics of an extremely complex issue in simplified clarity. It is an approach to the UFO story that has been overlooked, and it is an approach that is needed. Larry Holcombe majored in journalism at Richmond Professional Institute, Richmond, Virginia before starting a forty year career in architectural construction sales. While a junior in high school in the late 1950’s his interest in the UFO phenomenon was sparked by several books on UFOs written by the late Major Donald E. Keyhoe. His interest turned to an avocation and he became quietly involved in mainstream scientific UFO research. In 2006 he took early retirement to fulfill his desire to write. He resides with his wife, Alice, on Virginia’s Northern Neck near the Chesapeake Bay. They have two grown sons and seven grandchildren.
