THE QUICKSILVER COURT
This is the highly anticipated second book in Rooks and Ruin series, sequel to The Obsidian Tower. In THE QUICKSILVER COURT, she continues the wildly original epic fantasy series bursting with intrigue and ambition, questioned loyalties, and broken magic.
Ryxander, Warden of Gloamingard, has failed. Unsealed by her blood, the Door hidden within the black tower has opened. Now, for the first time since the age of the Graces, demons walk the world.
As tensions grow between nations, all eyes-and daggers - are set on Morgrain, fallen under the Demon of Discord's control. In an attempt to save her home from disaster, Ryx and the Rookery set out to find a powerful artifact. But powerful enemies are close behind - and they're closing in fast.
Melissa Caruso was born on the summer solstice and went to school in an old mansion with a secret door, but despite this auspicious beginning has yet to develop any known superpowers. Melissa has spent her whole life creating imaginary worlds, and in addition to writing is also an avid LARPer and tabletop gamer. She graduated with honors in Creative Writing from Brown University and has an MFA in Fiction from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Melissa's first novel, The Tethered Mage, was shortlisted for a Gemmell Morningstar Award for best fantasy debut.
