THE STRANGER BESIDE ME

Ann Rule

Ann Rule is regarded by many as the foremost true crime writer in America and the author responsible for the genre as it exists today.
Ann's first and most famous book, The Stranger Beside Me, was published in 1980 and gave her a voice in the True Crime genre. The book details the monstrous crimes of serial killer Ted Bundy and her experiences working beside him at a Seattle Crisis Clinic.

Ann delves not only into her personal interactions with him (in and out of prison) but also into the stories of his past, his victims, and the families left behind.

Ted Bundy was executed in prison 30 years ago this past January and there has been a resurgence of interest about his life and the works of Ann Rule, no doubt due to the new Netflix docu-series, The Ted Bundy Tapes, as well as the upcoming Zac Efron film entitled "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile".
