THE SWAN MAID

Dilly Court

HarperCollins 2016 are making 2016 a Dilly Court Year and will publish three new titles all with stunning new packaging and major promotions.
Lottie Lane is all alone in the world. As a chambermaid at one of London's busiest inns, condemned to a life of drudgery and at the mercy of a vicious
landlady, Lottie is too worn out to even dream of a better life. Until one night an injured soldier is brought to The Swan. Lottie nurses him back from the dead and suddenly everything changes. She finds herself following the drum of the soldiers, all the way from the docks of Chatham to the darkness and despair of a far-flung battlefield. When tragedy strikes, Lottie is alone once more and thrown back into the jaws of London's streets. With the threat of destitution nipping at her heels, Lottie is in dire need of a miracle.

Dilly Court grew up in North East London and began her career working in television. She is married with two grown up children and now lives in Dorset on the beautiful Jurassic Coast. .Her last novel THE RAGGED ROSE was on the bestseller list for several weeks and reached an all-time high of number 2!

“Dilly Court writes feisty female characters to fall in love with in a spirited, adventurous novel.”

We're working with My Weekly on an exclusive competition, offering one of their readers the chance to be named after a character in a special short story written by Dilly The competition will feature in My Weekly's 9th July edition as well as online and will be promoted across their social channels. We'll also be supporting it across HarperCollins' & Dilly's pages

We're seeing fantastic engagement on Dilly's new Facebook page and are continuing to build her following. In May we ran a set of highly targeted paid-for Page Like adverts – these were hugely successful and we saw an increase of over 2,000 fans in just a few days!
