THE THREE MYSTIC HEIRS

Lawrence Ellsworth

Lawrence Ellsworth is best known for his Dumas translations, but Ellsworth writes original historical fiction as a matter of personal passion - THREE MYSTIC HEIRS chief amongst his projects. Ellworth divided it into two parts, but it can be published in a single volume if that is preferred.
An historical thriller parallel novel to Dumas' Three Musketeers, The hunchback Louis d'Astarac, to cure himself and win his lady, seeks the alchemical magic secrets of a lost Rosicrucian book, competing with Cardinal Richelieu, the Jesuits, English agents, and heretical cultists, while crossing paths time and again with d'Artagnan and the musketeers. Best known for his Dumas translations of Alexandre Dumas (NS self-described "intellectual weirdo") Lawrence Ellsworth is the pen name of Lawrence Schick, an early employee of TSR, the company that created Dungeons & Dragons. There, he wrote White Plume Mountain (1979), regarded as the greatest D&D adventure module of all time. He's also the co-creator of the earliest version of the D&D setting Mystara. Since then, Ellsworth has served as Loremaster for the Elder Scrolls Online games and now lives in Dublin, where he is writing new mobile games - and historical fiction!
