UNPLUGGED
12-year-old Jett Baranov, son of a billionaire tech magnate, is basically a spoiled brat. After Jett gets kicked out of his third private school in three years (this time for flying a drone through a major airport), his dad decides he needs a reset. He sends him to the Oasis: a wellness retreat center where attendees follow a strict vegetarian diet, take meditation classes, and most importantly surrender all electronic devices upon arrival. Furious at being abandoned in this tech-free wasteland for six weeks, Jett is determined to resist the Oasis's "brainwashing." Jett's used to acting out and getting his way. But he never could have guessed that his rebellion this time would involve secretly keeping a pet lizard named Needles in an abandoned shed with a motley crew of other campers.
Unfortunately, it turns out that Needles is a serious carnivore, which means the kids need to sneak out of the Oasis every day if they want to buy meat to keep him fed. In town, they hear strange rumors about the owner of the mansion up on the hill, who drives by in a flashy car every day but never speaks to anyone. Could they be connected somehow to the weird behavior Jett has noticed among the adults at the Oasis? Meanwhile, Needles is getting bigger (and hungrier) every day, and Jett is starting to suspect he's no ordinary lizard...
Jett's about to learn how having friends, both human and reptile, can change a guy's priorities in ways he never could have imagined.
