When the car didn’t come
Manfred Lütz discovers the autobiography of his
great uncle Paulus von Husen and is transfixed.
Paulus lived a carefree student life until the
beginning of the First World War. He was part of
an army unit that aided Ebert’s government in
Berlin. As part of the Kreisauer Circle during the
Second World War he had come into contact with
Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, an army
officer who made an attempt on Hitler’s life.
Following the war Paulus van Husen was the first
president of the constitutional court in North
Rhine Westfalia. A fascinating and gripping book.
