WHY CAN'T I BE A DINOSAUR?

Kylie Westaway Tom Jellett

TODAY is Aunt Daisy’s wedding, and Nellie is meant to be her flower girl. But today, Nellie wants to be a dinosaur… Perfect for preschoolers, and for anyone who has ever had to argue with a four-year-old.
'Today. Is. Dinosaur. Day!' I roared. 'Today is Aunt Daisy's wedding,' said Mum. 'After breakfast, we all have to get dressed in special clothes. Nellie, you're a flower girl, remember?' 'I can't wear a dress today,' I said. 'I'm a dinosaur.' A light-hearted book that celebrates individuality, set against the backdrop of a family wedding. The early morning chaos will be familiar to anyone who has tried to get their children out of the house in a hurry, and Nellie's ingenious solution will amuse all. Kylie Westaway has spent most of her life travelling and living in different countries. Her background is in theatre and she also spent a year teaching 2-6 year olds in South Korea. Kylie joined the publishing industry when she returned to Australia. Her first picture book, Whale in the Bath, has been published in North America and Germany, and was a 2015 CBCA Notable Book.
